Since 1875, the first weekend in May, the world turns its attention to Churchill Downs for the first jewel in the famed Triple Crown, The Kentucky Derby. The Derby attracts the world's finest three-year-olds, with many of the winners, upon retirement, becoming Thoroughbred racing's most influential sires.
This year, Empire Bank and Central Trust welcomes the Kentucky Derby to our community with the inaugural Empire Bank/Central Trust Kentucky Derby Gala, a red carpet event benefitting the Springfield Workshop.
